    The TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 400 is an extremely powerful and productive cable burster for your tough pipe bursting jobs. Powered by a proven 25 HP strong KUBOTA Diesel engine you get the power to get the job done quickly and the durability to be up and running burst after burst. The X 400 replaces 40 to 300 mm main lines with up to 40 tons of pulling force at 215 bar. New pipes up to ø 355 mm can be replaced over length up to 150 m.

    Equipped with a ø 25.4 or 14 mm cable the X 400 is ideal for the replacement of old pipes made from cast iron, ductile iron, steel, clay ware or PE/PVC.

    Its compact footprint requires minimal excavation and the system is built to help you cut down on wasted time, maximizing productivity. Its user-friendly, modular design makes it easy to operate, easy to set up and easy to transport.

Fully automatic pipe pulling

    Pipe bursting with a TERRA cable burster provides a high degree of flexibility. The TERRAEXTRACTOR X 400 is equipped with an electrical remote control. Together with the cable drum the pipe pulling works fully automatic to increase productivity. Industry leading pulling speed of 145 m/h can be achieved. This provides a faster, more efficient burst.

Front plate and front box

    The durable front plate stabilizes the X 400 against the underground. All bursting tools and the new HDPE pipe can be pulled into the 0.8 m long front box. Optional TERRA offers longer front boxes. This makes it easy to disassemble the tools in the pit.

Hydraulic cable drum

    The hydraulic cable drum ensures an easy handling of the cable and it eliminates bungee effects. Pulling force and pulling speed can be adjusted to the X 400. It is equipped with up to 150 m of cable to improve your productivity. It is ideal for pit-topit or manhole-to-manhole operations with your TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 400.

Pit operations

    Due to its compact design the X 400 only requires a very small working area. The X 400 is equipped with several lifting eyes and can easily be lifted into the pit. The durable front plate stabilizes the cable burster against the underground. All bursting tools and the new HDPE pipe can be pulled into the 0.8 m long front box. Optional TERRA offers longer front boxes. This makes it easy to disassemble the tools in the pit. Manhole-to-manhole operations

    The X 400 can be equipped with a manhole-to-manhole frame. The X 400 sits on top of a 6 m long pillar. Manhole operations for manholes with inner diameter of ø 800 or ø 1.000 mm are possible. In combination with threaded short pipes, the whole burst can be done with zero excavation. A smart solution by TERRA.

Pipe replacement with roller cutters

    Old pipes made out of steel, ductile iron or plastic can easily be cut with the special roller cutters. They are equipped with several chopper discs. The chopper discs can be changed on site and they allow a wide burst application.

Pipe replacement with static cutters

    Old pipes made out of steel, clay ware or iron can easily be cut with the static 3-wing-cutters. Each knife has a centering adapter. Even sleeves can be burst with the 3-wing-cutters.

Unique clamping jaws

    Four cable clamps with longitudinal slots (patented) guarantee secure contact to the pulling cable, no matter if the cable is new or dirty. The main clamp clamps the cable when the two cylinders push the main clamp upwards. The counter clamp holds the cable under tension when the two cylinders move downwards and the main clamp is released.

KUBOTA Diesel Power Pack

    The X 400 is equipped with a strong KUBOTA Diesel power pack. The robust and powerful engine offers up to 25 HP for maximum productivity. It has a quick gear and power gear. The engine has a battery for the electric starter. It has an internal hydraulic pressure monitoring. The hydraulic pressure can be adjusted from zero to maximum pressure by an electric remote control. It is durable and reliable. It even allows operations in tropical and very hot regions due to its large oil cooler.
