The contractor BurMontazh from Minks is one of the largest pipe laying contractors in Belarus. The company was founded in March 2009 and has 30 employees and workers with three HDD groups. They operate in all of Belarus mainly for Gomelgazstroy, Minskvodstroy, Building Trust no. 27 and Baranovichienergostroy for pipelines, for electricity and water up to the house connections. BurMontazh own an older, larger HDD machine. For directional bores in narrow space, they have just bought a TERRA-JET DJ 18L PIT. The DJ 18L PIT is a pit launched HDD machine for directional bores in lengths up to 120-150 m (400-500 ft) which can backream up to ø 420 mm (16.5”). With the rock drilling tool TERRA-ROCK it can even drill in rock. In spite of this it requires only a pit with 2.5 m (8.25 ft) length and 2.0 m (6.6 ft) width. The TJ 3008 E drills in the depth of the pipe, so it can be used in both pit directions. The above picture shows how the DJ 18L PIT is lifted into the pit with the truck crane.
